THE GREAT HIATUS- PLEASE READ ALL!I realize the activity here has been, how shall I put it.... non-existant?
Though I've talked about it with a number of members at various times during and since Christmas break, I'd like to ask how all of you feel about an official hiatus of convention events. We all have other projects, other groups, other events outside of cosplay to attend to, etc.
Though Tales is still the closest fandom to my heart (okay... maybe not closer than Zelda, but that's just a matter of how I was raised ^.~), and I know a lot of you love it just as much, I've been getting word that we're ready for an official break.
Honestly? I am as well. Don't think this is your manager going "HUMF! People aren't talking about Tales cosplay non-stop, so I'll show them!!! I'll just shut this shit down!"
No. Not in the slightest.
I'd like to put it up to you guys to decide when we want to debut as a group again, or if we want to just see how things work out and decide later. I'm fine with as early as the next Fest to quite a bit later on. This is not to say "YOU CANNOT WEAR TALES COSPLAY HUR HUR" until we're going as a group again- just that I won't be organizing specific conventions/days for us to do Tales. If we decide, before a convention, that some of us would like to go in Tales on the same day? Cool! But let's face it- we're all a great deal busy with different projects. I don't want to make Louetta cosplay feel like a job or some rigid obligation that we fulfill grudgingly.
SO! Please give me your feedback on that.
This, by the way, does NOT mean that we'll be canceling any of our out-of-con events!!! Ranch weekends, any trips, any hang-out dates that normally or spontaneously come up are STILL ON! Come April/May time, I'll start asking about when everyone is available in summer for our annual Summer party.

The point is that I don't want you guys putting more work into Louetta cosplays than you want to. I'm pretty psyched to see some of the different groups a lot of you are forming! And, on a personal note, I have one or two cosplays outside of Louetta that I'm really jazzed about too.
In short, how long shall we be calling this a "social" group of cosplayers with similar fandoms instead of a "cosplay group"? I'm open for any and all suggestions.
For those of you who just joined, especially those I haven't even put on the member list yet, I feel awful doing this right now. I know you're new to Louetta and are probably going, "Uhm... Wow. I signed up for nothing?"
I have no plans of disbanding this group or ceasing Tales cosplay as long as there are people who are willing to follow me and do it. However, this group has been around since 2007 and could definitely use a breather.
In light of all of this, I'm temporarily disconnecting the link to our member list. It's not going anywhere, but I'm going to modify it in a few ways. Firstly, there were some people who wanted to be taken off and some who wanted to be added.
Secondly, I've decided to remove the "character cosplayed" section of the list. Why? I feel like there was a time (and maybe it still feels this way to some) when we put a lot of emphasis on who could be who. This is an open group, so though you may be known as a "Luke" or a "Guy" or whatever the case may be, you should feel free to grab someone completely different too without worrying about incurring the wrath of someone else. The more the merrier, and if we want to do an "EVERYONE COSPLAY ASCH" day or something, this should be possible without grudging looks from the original (haha- see what I did there?) Asches.
I hope all of this sits well with you. If it does or if it doesn't or if you just don't give a flying fonstone, please leave some feedback. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you guys.
